The South Australian Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) is dedicated to safeguarding the South Australian community from emergencies. Our mission encompasses prevention, education, preparedness, response, and recovery.

To enhance community resilience, the MFS has implemented a variety of engaging activities. We leverage nationally recognised research and industry best practices to connect with our community, promoting safer behaviours that help decrease the frequency of fires and other emergencies, ultimately minimising associated losses.

Community and School Educational Tours Update - 22 September 2025:

All community and school station tours, appliance visits, and community events are now cancelled until further notice due to ongoing industrial action by the United Firefighters Union of South Australia (UFUSA). This does not impact Home Fire Safety Presentations.

This action is outside of the Metropolitan Fire Service’s control, and we understand the inconvenience it may cause.
