MFS is responding to a fire near PORT AUGUSTA in South Australia's north. The grass fire is in vacant land near the corner of Tassie Street and Rogers Street at Port Augusta and is being pushed by strong winds. Metropolitan Fire Service and Country Fire Service firefighters are responding to the fire, which is causing smoke in the area. Motorists and the public should avoid the area and be mindful that strong winds can cause a grass fire to spot ahead of the original fire. .
People in the area should check and follow their Bushfire Survival Plans.
