The MFS is currently attending a fire in/at/near DRY CREEK near Hanson Road at Dry Creek near Wingfield in Adelaide's North. The grass fire is contained, however is causing heavy smoke in the area. The Port River Expressway has been temporarily closed due to low visibility and is expected to remain closed for up to an hour (until about 1 pm). Motorists are asked to avoid Hanson Road and the Port River Expressway and to be aware of the presence of emergency vehicles, including MFS and CFS fire trucks..
At this time, the fire does not pose a threat to life or property. People in the area are advised to check and follow their Bushfire Survival Plan, monitor local conditions and listen for further updates on this radio station using a battery-powered radio.
Road users are advised to use caution on the roads in the area as smoke may reduce visibility.
People in the affected area are advised to close all doors and windows and stay indoors if the smoke is causing you concern.
