Recommended for Years 3 - 7
What do you do if your clothes catch fire?
COVER your face with your hands
DROP to the floor or ground
ROLL over and over - on the part that is on fire.
If children are older (9 years and above) talk with them about the method of extinguishing the fire, smothering, so they understand why they are rolling on the fire. Explain that if you run with your clothes on fire, it is like blowing on a campfire coal, it provides oxygen and makes the fire burn faster.
