The MFS is responsible for the protection of the South Australian community from the effects of emergencies. The role of the fire service includes prevention and education, preparedness, response and recovery activities.

The MFS has developed many community engagement activities designed to focus on building resilience within the community.

Our activities use nationally recognised research and industry best practice to engage our community and foster safer behaviours resulting in reduced frequency of fires and other emergencies and associated losses.
