Harmony Day

Harmony Day celebrates the cohesive and inclusive nature of our nation and promotes the benefits of cultural diversity.

The continuing message of Harmony Day is 'Everyone Belongs'.

The SA Metropolitan Fire Service (MFS) is holding an event at Adelaide Fire Station to celebrate Harmony Day on 21st March 2011.

There will be an afternoon tea, fire safety displays and information, material translated into other languages, fire cause displays, activities for children, fire appliances including the antique Dennis appliance and a demonstration of Vehicle Accident Rescue techniques.

During the event the MFS will also launch 'Emergency Interpreter' an initiative which allows firefighters to use interpreters at incidents to communicate with non-English speakers.
