The MFS has delivered emergency services to the Port Pirie community since the station was established by the SA Fire Brigade on 13 May 1902. Port Pirie Fire Station is staffed by four shifts of full time firefighters working a roster of 24 hrs on duty and 72 hrs off and backed up by 20 retained firefighters, 24 hours per day, every day of the year. Port Pirie Fire Station has a Heavy Duty Rescue/Pumper with a pumping capacity of 3,800 litres per minute and is staffed by a full-time crew comprising one Station Officer and three firefighters. |
