In 2010 the MFS completed construction of an additional fire station at Seaford.

The Seaford Fire Station is staffed by 22 firefighters (across four shifts) providing prevention and community preparedness, operational preparedness, emergency response and community recovery services 24 hours per day, every day of the year.

Seaford Fire Station has a Rescue Appliance, which has 3,800 litres per minute pumping capacity, and specialist tools to assist MFS personnel when responding to Road Accident Rescue.

The Station provides accommodation for up to two fire appliances and operational crew, as well as modern training and operational facilities.

It incorporates energy efficiency initiatives including 12kW of photo voltaic (solar) technology, water harvesting and water recycling.

The primary response area of the Seaford Fire Station includes the following suburbs:

Seaford Meadows, Seaford Heights, Old Noarlunga, Seaford Rise, Huntfield Heights, Moana, Maslin Beach, Port Noarlunga South, and part of Noarlunga Downs and Hackham West. The remainder of Noarlunga Downs and Hackham West will continue to be covered by the existing Christie Downs Metropolitan Fire Station.

The Seaford Metropolitan Fire Service Station was officially opened on Saturday 13 February 2010.
